Davide Gagliardi (1988) began his musical studies studying guitar with F. R. d' Ettorre and M. Bossi. He graduated in June 2014 in Composition and New Technologies (BA) at Conservatory of Venice spending one semester at the Kunst Universität Graz as Erasmus student in the class of G. Kühr. During his studies he took part in several composition and performing masterclasses held by Pierluigi Billone, Klangforum Wien, Richard Barrett, Agostino di Scipio, Germán Toro Pérez, George Aperghis and the ICST Zurich. He also attended the 46th Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt and the 9th and 10th Impuls Academy in Graz. He is graduated with honors in Computer Music (MA) at the Institut für Elektronische Musik und Akustik – IEM in Graz (AT) with Marko Ciciliani.
As composer, his electroacoustic works have been performed in Venice (Ateneo Veneto, Biennale Musica 55th and 56th edition), Graz (IEMCube, MinoritenSaal, Mumuth, ESC Gallery, Haus Der Architektur), Rome ( Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia), Bangor (UK), Darmstadt (DE), Karlsruhe (ZKM - DE) Antwerp (deSingel - BE), Bolzano (Transart - IT), Berlin (Villa Elisabeth - DE).
Active as electronic performer and sound director, he worked as soloist and with Klangforum Wien, Marco Fusi, Dimitrios Polisoidis, Michael Moser, Jorge Sánchez Chiong, Gerhard Eckel, Barbara Lüneburg, Marko Ciciliani, Black Page Orchestra, Franziska Baumann, Clarence Barlow, Trevor Wishart, Maximilian Marcol, Kai Wessel Quartetto Maurice and ex-Novo Ensemble in various festivals such as Signale, Impuls, Jeunesse (AT), Gaudeamus Musikweek, Risonanze Erranti, Emergenze Sonore (IT), inter/action III (UK) 48th Ferienkurse für Neue Music (DE), and recently in Parma for the production of Luigi Nono’s Prometeo. His repertoire includes works by John Cage, Luigi Nono, John Chowning, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Bernhard Lang, Pierre Boulez, Luciano Berio, Agostino di Scipio, Bruno Maderna, Stefan Prins, Ondřej Adámek, Fausto Romitelli, Peter Ablinger and Carola Bauckholt.
Since 2016 he is the Sound director of Schallfed Ensemble with which he participated in various festival such as the 48th Ferienkurse für Neue Music (DE) as Ensemble in residence, Tage Neuer Musik (AT), Klangspuren (AT), 10th Impuls Festival (Graz), Novalis Festival (HR) Wien Modern (AT) Afekt Festival (EE) Bludenzer Tage Zeitgemäßer Musik (AT) and in various concert venues in Graz.
Between the end of 2019 and mid 2021 is has been working as the Director of SELMA Studio für Elektronische Musik und Akustik of the HfMDK in Frankfurt
Since Mid 2021 his is Professor of Multimedia at the Conservatorio G. Verdi di Milano
